Hello, I’m Agnesia!
I am here to bring back your excitement for teaching as I create play based themes, classroom resources and fun educational activities. I hope to save you precious time by simplifying the teaching process. So let me do the planning while you do the playing.
About me professionally:
As a young girl I always had a passion to teach not knowing that it will evolve into a career one day. When I was in primary school I literally had to be dragged out of the house to play with children during school holidays because all I wanted to do is play teacher with my dolls.
Never did I realize that I was being groomed for a time like this!
After high school I obtained a Bachelors Degree in Language and Communication Studies at the University of Western Cape and a few years later I studied B.Ed in Foundation Phase at UNISA because the passion for teaching couldn’t leave me. My dream was to be a Grade 1 teacher but I realized that the foundation of any child’s educational journey starts in preschool and it led to the opening of my preschool center, Clever Kid Academy.
I loved to be at work to witness how young children developed and reach their milestones through play based activities. Yet I was constantly looking for educational material that would be engaging and exciting for my students to use. I couldn’t get a curriculum that was themed based with fine motor, sensory, math and literacy activities in one. I then decided to create my own educational resources to use with my students.
Yet, the most dreadful time came, in 2020, when we had to close down the preschool. It was extremely painful to not say goodbye to my students. During those first few weeks of lockdown all I could think of was teaching.
It was that longing that gave birth to Clever Kid in a box. I somehow had this compelling idea of using my 15 years teaching experience in addition with my language and communication studies and start teaching children out of a box.
I simply enjoy designing for teachers and parents as I know it’s a way of reaching and teaching more children at the same time. So please know that every design is specially made for you with a piece of my heart.
Family at the Heart of It All
About me personally
While teaching plays a big part of whom I am, my family will always be my number goal in life.
I am a mom of two respectful children, an inquisitive daughter and an energetic son. They are both homeschooled and the bulk of the resources I design is to educate them. I simply love my children so much and am grateful to have them in our lives. They are the “quality controllers” of the business as they test every activity and craft.
I have an amazing and supportive husband who spends countless hours with me manufacturing and prepping the products of the business. Outside of us spending our days and nights educating our children, running the preschool and prepping the products, we also serve together as pastors in our ministry called Love Embassy.
I love planning, from school activities, church activities, and DIY house projects to birthday parties. You will always find me with a book sparking up my next adventure.
For relaxation I spend time in the garden. There is nothing calmer than placing my hands in the ground. The garden is my little escape from the busyness of life. I would sit there for hours with my cup of tea in my one hand and my Bible in the other.
